JULY 2014

UK Defence Minister Visits

Philip Dunne MP, Minister for Defence Equipment Support and Technology visited the OVIK design and prototype facility on June 24th 2014. Mr Dunne's minsterial portfolio places him at the very top of all UK MOD procurement decisons; his annual budget, in the region of £14BN GBP is one of the largest ministerial departmental budgets in government.

Mr Dunne visited OVIK to view the latest versions of the CROSSWAY vehicle and STRIVE chassis - both of which have huge defence potential. As part of his ministerial remit Mr Dunne also takes a keen interest in British defence exports; OVIK Directors, Duncan and Jez Hermer were able to demonstrate CROSSWAY and STRIVE as products with extreme export potential and with significant domestic scope.

Mr Dunne was accompanied on his visit by South Dorset MP Richard Drax (Conservative). Mr Drax is extremely supportive of all Dorset based technology and engineering firms and has been very helpful towards OVIK; an MP with a real passion for Dorset and Dorset business.
